Lze o\u010dek\u00e1vat, \u017ee pr\u00e1v\u011b tyto elektr\u00e1rny budou m\u00edt velk\u00fd v\u00fdznam p\u0159i dosahov\u00e1n\u00ed v\u00fd\u0161e zm\u00edn\u011bn\u00fdch klimaticko-energetick\u00fdch c\u00edl\u016f EU.V Evrop\u011b se tento typ elektr\u00e1ren nach\u00e1z\u00ed hlavn\u011b v Severn\u00edm a Baltsk\u00e9m mo\u0159i. Budov\u00e1n\u00ed t\u011bchto v\u011btrn\u00fdch elektr\u00e1ren v\u0161ak s sebou p\u0159in\u00e1\u0161\u00ed i ur\u010dit\u00e9 limity, spojen\u00e9 zejm\u00e9na s jejich v\u00fdstavbou. Budou ji tvo\u0159it t\u0159i plovouc\u00ed jednotky s celkov\u00fdm v\u00fdkonem dosahuj\u00edc\u00edm 25 MW.
